The written word.

The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain: I liked this one. A lot. The best part about it was the unpredictable turn of events that seemed to never end. It had that I-can't-put-this-book-down draw of a good mystery. What a rewarding feeling to select a book at random, based on the cover alone, without any recognition of the author or title and for the outcome to actually be enjoyable! I can't tell you how many failures I've had the mishap of choosing in the past and there's nothing quite as frustrating. I'm not the type of reader who can leave a page unturned and so I must finish all books that I start, whether I cringe as I'm reading or it takes me months to finish... bottom line, I finish. No worries with this one though. It's a true winner!
